Why Should I Join SFA?

SFA represents nearly 300 small businesses throughout the Southeast, from Texas to North Carolina, employing thousands of people directly and creating thousands more jobs in associated trades including seafood restaurants that depend on professional, licensed commercial fishermen for a share of the nation’s renewable marine resources.

SFA is the largest professional trade association representing 85% of the domestic seafood industry in Florida.

$1,050—Corporate includes:  Wholesale Dealers, Distributors, Brokers and Importers/Exporters

* Corporate members may elect to be billed in four (4) equal monthly installments after initial membership year.

 $630—Associate includes: Advertising, Publications, Boat Building, Cartons, Boxes, Paper Products, Consultants, Financial Institutions, Engines and Hoists, Ice Companies, InsuranceFishing Supplies, Marine Electronics, Repairs & Ways, and Transportation/Fuel,

$160—Boat Owner (per boat) Contact person and 1 other designee qualify to receive publications and related information including email updates, access to “Members Only” area including the online Membership Directory; SFA logo for marketing, early access to Annual Meeting hotel rooms and discounted meeting fees, Membership certificate suitable for framing.  

$20--SAM-Seafood Consumer, Seafood Access Member (SAM) for those who enjoy eating fresh domestic sustainable seafood. Member to receive informative emails about seafood issues, grassroots efforts to protect access to seafood for non-boaters and a discount to local/regional SFA events. $10--SAM-Industry Employee, Seafood Access Member (SAM) for those whose jobs are connected to the seafood industry. Member to receive quarterly emails with summaries about the issues affecting the commercial seafood industry and how it may affect their livelihood. 

Southeastern Fisheries Association is exempt from federal income tax under the provisions of Section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code. Membership dues paid to the Association are not deductible as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes. However, dues payments by members are deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense, subject to limitations resulting from the Association’s lobbying activities. Southeastern Fisheries Association estimates that the nondeductible portion of your dues allocable to lobbying is 15%.
